Everyone loves makeup. Most women can agree highlighting our features will make us look a more lively. However, some makeup trends can make anyone question if makeup is now making women look so fake, many resemble drag queens today(referring to heavy makeup). Two examples of this include:

Kim Kardashian: We all know there isn’t really much about Kim that’s real. You can argue Kim was the one who started the contouring trend.

Are there any other individuals or groups known for doing this that I missed? Let me know in the comment section below! So, the drag look for black women goes beyond makeup. If you got offended, jokes on you because I’m a black woman(LOL). Gay men and drag queens mimic black women often when37812c070ea15311a55a6d1bae02fdf4 regarding style. Part of the reason drag queens and gay men do this so often is because black women commonly wear a lot of fake things(weave, eyelashes, nails) to enhance their appearance. This is why I say yes to team natural! White women may do this also, but I find this trend to be really prevalent in the black community.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with wearing makeup. I wear it too, but contouring has a weird way of making women look a little too fake. Still, if you like this trend, keep doing it. We all have the right to have our own opinions and styles, but if you wear this almost drag style of makeup, don’t be surprised when men find it difficult to determine if you’re male or female due to the increase in the number of transgender people.

Anyway, my question for you guys is:

  • Do you think modern makeup trends look really similar to the drag style?
