The controversy of feminism is a big topic. As a person who identifies as a feminist by definition, I believe the movement has gone too far. The definition of feminism is the advocacy of women’s rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes. Feminism was important in the past due to the fact that women had few rights. However, the feminist movements today are very different from the actual idea. This is because:
The original idea is kinda dead…
“I feel that man-hating is an honorable and viable political act, that the oppressed have a right to class-hatred against the class that is oppressing them.” -Robin Morgan
Many feminists today promote hatred of men. Reason being is because famous feminist are known for voicing their harsh opinions of men such as Robin Morgan, but the the people in the feminist movement rarely criticize her. Not criticizing such a statement is the same as accepting it. Trump voters will distance themselves from and criticize white supremacists(Click here for video). Here are a few more Robin Morgan quotes:
“Don’t accept rides from strange men – and remember that all men are strange as hell.”
“Sexism is not the fault of women – kill your fathers, not your mothers.”
The modern feminist movement should be classified as a hate group because many other feminist openly voice their hatred of men such as:
- Catherine MacKinnon
- Sally Miller Gearhart
- Marilyn French

Feminist actually make women look worse…
Some women want to be taken seriously even when they are publicly flaunting themselves sexually. The SlutWalk or the protests when women voluntarily expose their breasts to the public are great examples of this. Apparently it’s wrong for men to view women as sexual objects when women are exposing one of the most sexual aspects of their bodies. Humans are sexual beings. Women sometimes have the same response towards men, especially when ovulating. Is it wrong to salivate when one of you’re favorite foods are right in front of you? Women don’t want to be seen just a sex objects or a sluts, but many feminist present themselves in that way and it’s not effectively getting their point across. Even at one of Amber Roses SlutWalks, the men were there just to see the women wear barely anything.
Few address issues when women are actually being oppressed!
Try explaining how wearing a hijab is a feminist statement. The hijab is a symbol of Islam, a religion known for the oppression of women in today’s time. I visited an Islamic mosque and the women had to stand in the back of the room during prayer. Was it cool when black people were forced to sit in the back of the bus during segregation? It’s okay to follow the Islamic belief(freedom of religion) but you cannot have a Muslim woman wearing a hijab as a sign of feminism and at the same time, deny the clear sexism in the religion. There is no equality between men and women in the Islamic belief. In fact, you are going to have a hard time finding a predominantly Muslim country when the women have equal rights.
